80s Givenchy Silk Star Print Dress

From the same early 1980s collection that Lady (Princess) Diana Spencer wore when she joined her fiancé Prince Charles, The Queen Mother and Princess Margaret for the wedding of Nicholas Soames, where the Prince was best man, held at Westminster Abbey, London, on June 4th 1981. Givenchy Nouvelle Boutique Paris.
This is such a special piece of mine, as I picked it up in a vintage shop while visiting London a few years back. However, I haven’t worn it & it deserves to be seen!
It has pockets! Knee to midi length depending on height. Balloon sleeves with shoulders pads. Button front with buttons at cuffs and attached necktie/pussybow. 100% silk.
She does have a bunch of minor flaws which are pictured, but perfectly wearable.
- Faint discoloration at edge of cuffs and neckline.
- Small faint stains.
- Fading at underarms.
