This is a 1930's rare and hard to find fortune telling teacup by Genevieve Wimsatt. After her travels in Europe and China in the 1920’s she returned to the US and patented this cup and saucer in 1929. It was produced by the Canonsburg Pottery Co. and limited information is known as to quantity produced.
The cup features a variety of symbols and each is used as guide to read the shapes of brewed tea leaves which foretell your future. The saucer features the 12 Chinese Zodiac signs and a Yin Yang symbol.
This is the original cup and saucer in used condition..
Cup measures about 3 3/4 inches wide - some crazing but otherwise in excellent condition, no chips, nics, cracks or flacking.
