Vintage Japanese Hand Painted Kokeshi Doll Titled Hidamari by Toa Sekiguchi

Incredible vintage kokeshi doll created by renowned Japanese artist Toa Sekiguchi. This stunning piece features a girl wearing a black kimono with a vivid red robe that boasts an intricate hand painted design design. Each of Toa Sekiguchi's creations is infused with symbolic significance, making them unique to the artist's vision. Although there are hundreds of kokeshi artists in Japan, not many of them can win the kokeshi competition. This great master Toa Sekiguchi is also one of the prime minister award winners. He won the award twice in 2001 and 2009.
