Vintage Christofle "Libellule" Dragonfly

A vintage Christofle of Paris "Libellule" vase with its original velvet pouch made in France and dating to the 1980s. The silver-plated Art Nouveau vessel features a dragonfly in relief on either side of the tapered vessel with wings spread shoulder to shoulder. "The dragonfly vase is a re-edition of an original piece exhibited at the Bouilhet-Christofle Museum and presented for the first time at the 1889 World's Fair." The French bud or posy vase has an oval rim and rests on an oval foot, bearing full Christofle marks on the base and measuring 6 in. H x 3 in. W x 1.5 in. D. The wide and shallow design makes this an ideal decorative accent for a bookshelf, fireplace mantle, or window sill. The piece is in excellent condition, undamaged condition; the brown velvet pouch is in excellent condition. Period: Art Nouveau late 20 century
