This commemorative WWII 1937 buffalo nickel was engraved by coin engraving artist Jackie Allen who adopted her style directly from her mentor, John F. Press. Just as her successor did, she stamped her name into the back of all of her known coin engravings, ‘J ALLEN’. She is arguably the most popular female coin engraver ever. I believe that this WWII coin is one of her best works.
