20 Views of Worksop & the Dukery by Thos. Ratcliffe

This rare book is a collection of lithographic prints that visually capture scenes from the town of Worksop and the surrounding Dukeries area in Nottinghamshire, England. Worksop is a market town in Nottinghamshire known for its proximity to Sherwood forest and its rich historical heritage.The Dukeries refers to an area around Worksop known for its large estates and the residences of several prominent dukes, notably the Dukes of Newcastle, Portland and others. The area is home to several stately homes & gardens.

Thomas Ratcliffe was an artist and illustrator who was known for his work depicting landscapes, especially those in the northern and midlands parts of England. The lithographs were printed by V. & S. Ltd., which was a publishing house operating in the 19th century.

This 120 plus year old book has normal wear. About one quarter inch of the upper corner of the title page is cut off. One page, (four lithographs), is detached from the stapled binding. Please see photos.
