"Here is a hand painted plate from the Lepidoptera collection by Lesley Roy designs of Connecticut. Her designs are a result of a several year process in the making that involves hand painting with historically accurate pigments inspired by ancient Pompeiian and Egyptian frescoes. Gold leaf and a craquelure effect are hand applied in her "reverse glass" technique. Lesley Roy studied fine arts at Yale university. Her items were sold throughout high-end department stores in the 1990's and early 2000's."
