Charles Stewart Parnell by Katherine O’Shea RARE 2 Vol London First Ed. 1914

The product is a rare two-volume first edition of "Charles Stewart Parnell: His Love Story & Political Life" by Katherine “Kitty” O'Shea. The 2 volume set was published in London in 1914 by Casell & Co. Ltd. 
These hardcover books delve into Irish political history, focusing on the life of Charles Stewart Parnell, an Irish nationalist leader of the Home Rule Movement and Member of Parliament (UK) from 1875-1891.  They also focus upon his turbulent life and his affair with “Kitty” O'Shea.  Despite the scandal, Parnell remained a prominent figure in Irish politics until his untimely death. 
Initially these books were on loan from the Literary and Philosophical Society of Newcastle upon Tyne, England.  Both volumes show wear and their age.  Volume 1 has: some black marks on the outside; there is a tear along the outside rear; the inside front page is darkened by a news clip left there; and, the illustration of Lucy Goldsmith is detached from its place at page 144.  Please refer to photos.
