This exquisite vintage Japanese lacquered stacking box is a true treasure of traditional craftsmanship and artistry. Boxes like this one are often called a Bento or food boxes, but they can just as easily be used to store jewelry, makeup, or sewing supplies. It is comprised of two 2-inch deep layers and a cover, with four legs on the lower box. Each box is designed to fit seamlessly on top of another, allowing for easy organization and display.

Measuring approximately 6 1/2" W x 5 1/8” H, this vintage box is meticulously crafted with intricate Maki-e designs. It is made of lacquered hard plastic, black on the inside, with an intricate floral design in gold and red on the lid and on the four sides. It is offered in excellent vintage condition, as shown at pictures.
