Antique Chinese Export Blue & White 12” Oval Serving Platter, Chinoiserie Landscape Motif from 19th Century. Hand-painted depictions of a mountainous terrain, pagodas, bridges, and figures in boats, characteristic of the Canton pattern. Porcelain is rendered in underglaze cobalt blue. The border on the platter is the "rain and cloud" border, a common motif on early to mid-19th-century Canton ware. Also no marks typical of items before 1911.
During this time, Blue & White chinoiserie Porcelain was popular and exported from port city, Canton Guangzhou, in China.
Very great Condition, normal wear on the base. No chips or cracks.
