Vintage Italian red onyx box with gilt toned metal mounted fittings raised on beast feet. Opens to reveal red velvet lined interior. accents and feet. It is likely vintage, possibly from the mid-20th century. Made of marbled alabaster or onyx stone, with a brass band trim and brass paw feet. Features a hinged lid and a red velvet-lined interior. Often described as Art Deco or Mid-Century Modern. Used for storing jewelry, trinkets, or small items. Many similar boxes are noted as being of Italian origin. The lid does shift a little, but otherwise beautiful condition.
