This antique magic lantern slide depicts the surrender of the British army to General Washington at Yorktown during the Revolutionary War. The image, captured in landscape orientation and in color, measures 3 1/4 x 4 inches and is made of glass. This is an original print produced by McAlister in 1880, making it a vintage piece of history.

This rare theme boldly Colored Magic Lantern Slide measures 4" x 3.25" and shows General George Washington at Yorktown, Virginia where the British are shown surrendering their swords and colors, thereby effectively ending the Revolutionary War.


Nice  colors and clean, unbroken paper borders. These were part of a rather lengthy "Economic Series" of Magic Lantern Slides produced by T.H. McAllister
