Vtg Handmade Bolivian Wool Poncho Blanket Weight Wood Rings Red Black Striped

Fantastic poncho made in Bolivia!

-An expert purchased it, returned it, and informed me that it is not 100% wool (I had previously stated it was) due to the light weight for its size (2 pounds and 12 ounces)

-There was a paper pinned onto it with some info on it, but it’s hard to read and says “made by a Bolivian Methodist woman” and also says it was “sold by Nelson Mamani” and “made by his grandfather” “perhaps in the late 50s?”. So, I’m not sure if any of this info is true or if it was made up to fetch a higher price from tourists.

-Feels like a thin blanket weave; warm, and sturdy (weighs 2 pounds and 12 ounces)

-Adorned with dangling thick wooden rings, 2.75” in diameter

-63” across, 37.5” long (75" unfolded)

-I did a burn test to confirm that there is wool in the composition (also smelled like burnt hair)


Condition: Excellent, no issues and no odors!
